The Prospera Credit Union in Surrey features the recently developed 'groundface' concrete block finish that combines the look of stone with the cost efficiency of block.
Steveston London School
The Steveston London School in Richmond was constructed of structural block walls exposed to the school interior. This structure was clad with the charcoal half-high units shown here. As an extra sustainable design feature, both the structural and veneer units were made with a concrete mix containing a 20% cement replacement with fly ash.
Swallows Landing
A special blend of three colours of clay brick was provided for the Swallows Landing project in Victoria.
Stone Entryway
This home received a Peoples Choice Award for rich detailing and the texture of its natural stone masonry.

Past Directors
The 2008 Masonry Design Awards provided the opportunity for three Past Directors of the Masonry Institute of BC to compare masonry anecdotes. Previous Director Bill McEwen retired in 2016 is flanked on the right. by Bruce Peter from the 1980's, and on the left by Bob Martin from the 1990's

The Church of Christ project in Burnaby was one of four Peoples Choice Award winners. This tower displays two colours of the brick veneer that replaced the previous non-masonry cladding that had failed to provide the durability that the congregation expected.

Cridge Village Seniors' Centre
This modern residential addition to the Cridge Village Seniors' Centre in Victoria draws inspiration from many of the historic masonry arch and corbel details crafted by bricklayers on the adjoining original brick building in 1893.
Vancouver Island Conference Centre
A variety of masonry units, sizes, colours and details were used to reduce the scale of the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo by expressing smaller building forms.
